News – G-SHOCK 5000 Series in Titanium

Casio has just announced the G-SHOCK 5000 series in Titanium. Despite the classic outlook, the new GMW-B5000TB has a new case, band, bezel and buttons made with titanium. As a result, it weights 57 grams less than its antecedent.

There are still other new features, for instance, it has a non-reflective scratch-resistant sapphire crystal to improve protection and durability. The gold scripts and accent is also the first attempt on a G-SHOCK according to Casio.

Moreover, it has a STN LCD display with Casio’s tough solar movement. They claim it can operate for 22 months under power-saving mode. And most importantly, it has Bluetooth connectivity. If you have installed the G-SHOCK’s app on your phone, you can connect the watch and adjust settings on your phone.

Maison Martin Margiela is the original name of Maison Margiela, the high fashion brand from Paris. It was founded by Martin Margiela and Jenny Meirens in 1988. Herschel Supply Co. x New Balance has released their recent collaboration. In fact, they have been working together for six years already. And this time, the crossover is based on New Balance’s 801 sneakers.

In this crossover series, they have taken a more subtle and neat approach. The upper features a mix of mesh, leather, and nubuck. And on the outsole, there are some customized patterns to differentiate from the ordinary 801. More than that, they have added some reflective colors to make them more eye-catching. There are three colors available – Night Lights, Rock, and Cement.

News – Supreme New York Store Closed

Supreme New York store has been closed due to the end of leasing. This store located in 274 Lafayette Street has been Supreme’s original store since they started in April 1994. After 25 years, the store is now closed because it has reached the end of leasing. And the leasing agency are revealing an unconfirmed price of $70,000 USD a month. It is no doubt a sad news for Supreme’s fans. Yet, the good news is that Supreme’s store in 190 Bowery, New York will now be a permanent location.

This is the first collaboration between Dr. Martens x Hender Scheme. Dr. Martens is a famous British footwear brand that specialized on boots. On the other hand, Hender Scheme is a Japanese leather expert. In fact, Hender Scheme has been teamed up with Adidas earlier to create a collection of leather sneakers. This time, the cross-over collection will be based on Dr. Martens’ 1461 model and they will be available on 28th Sep 2019.

One of the color features Hender Scheme’s signature natural vegetable tanned leather and named as “manual industrial products 21”. They are crafted in Hender Scheme’s factory in Japan and the leather will age and darken upon usage to deliver a vintage touch.

Also, the other homage collection features a classic 1461 that is made in England. This shoes feature classic Dr. Martens’ yellow stitching with black leather upper. What’s really special is the removable leather kiltie adorns the laces. It comes with two color – Hender Scheme’s light brown leather and black leather. You can replace it as you like and there are also two colors of shoelaces with the same accent.

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Ghostly International, they team up with Vans to launch a collection of Vans x Ghostly International sneakers. And the designs come from Rebecca Cianfrini, a graphic designer based in New York.

Ghostly International is a well known boutique headquartered in New York. More than that, they are also an art and music company that supports talented individuals. Thus, you can find a wide range of artworks and albums on their website.

However, this is still the first time they work with Vans. “The chance to design shoes with [Vans] is a dream come true”, said Sam Valenti, Ghostly International’s founder and creative director.

As for the sneakers, they are based on Vans’ slip on and SK8-HI. The upper has Ghostly International’s logo in 3M print while the insole has an eye-catching purple color. For the SK8-HI it uses a subtle flash of visual interest to complement the matte eyelets.
